چکیده

For the past 20 years the US military services have suffered under the limitations of stove-piped computer software applications that function as discrete entities within a fragmented dataprocessing environment. Lack of interoperability has been identified by numerous think tanks, advisory boards, and studies, as the primary information systems problem (e.g., Army Science Board 2000, Air Force SAB 2000 Command and Control Study, and NSB Network-Centric Naval Forces 2000). Yet, despite this level of attention, all attempts to achieve interoperability within the current data-centric information systems environment have proven to be expensive, unreliable, and generally unsuccessful.

More and more the continuum of care is replacing the traditional way of treating the subjects of care putting people in the centre of the healthcare process. Currently clinicians start treatment after a problem occurs due to the low adoption of Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS) integrated with standardised Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems; The volume to value revolution in the heal...

Access control in ultra-large-scale systems using a data-centric middleware

The primary characteristic of an Ultra-Large-Scale (ULS) system is ultra-large size on any related dimension. A ULS system is generally considered as a system-of-systems with heterogeneous nodes and autonomous domains. As the size of a system-of-systems grows, and interoperability demand between sub-systems is increased, achieving more scalable and dynamic access control system becomes an im...

Hospital information systems interoperability in Iran

Introduction: Interoperability is needed when the Hospital Information System (HIS) data should be combined and shared with different systems. This study was aimed to determine the semantic and technical interoperability of hospital information systems of Iran’s health care centers and propose guidelines to create and develop interoperability of these centers. Methods: This descriptive st...

A Reference Architecture Based on Web Components for Ubiquitous Information Systems

Companies scattered worldwide, the proliferation of network-enabled devices, and advances in telecommunications have fueled a wide range of emerging behaviors that new and legacy systems must attempt to support. An important new usage behavior is ubiquitous computing, defined here as anytime/anyplace access to system functionality and data. Designing and deploying ubiquitous information systems...

Developing a Citizen-Centric Spatial Decision-Making System to Support the Process of Participatory Construction in Urban Distressed Textures

Todays, urban distressed textures are considered as a vital concern of managers, particularly in large cities. These areas, which also appear in official parts of cities, are vulnerable because of prospective problems. Lack of proper accessibility, services, facilities, and infrastructures, as well as social, economic, environmental and spatial problems, are key problems of these areas. Althoug...
